Family Housing Learning Center

The Family Housing and Learning Center (FHLC) is a transitional housing program with ten apartments available to working families as they move from homelessness to self-sufficiency.  Case managers assist residents through budgeting and finance classes, parenting, cooking, and other life-skills.  They also help residents set up schedules to attend classes aimed at furthering their education in specific areas of interest.

  • Groups to prepare welcome baskets for a new family coming into the program or to collect housewarming items for a family leaving the program and moving into their own homes
  • Groups to plan birthday parties, reward parties,
    bowling outings, etc.
  • Individuals to do a craft or art project with the residents
  • Groups to prepare and serve a Saturday breakfast or brunch
  • Individuals willing to perform simple auto repairs at reduced prices
  • Babysitters for resident’s children so they may attend meetings. These meeting are on Thursdays, twice a month, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM
  • Someone to maintain the grounds on a regular basis. Would need to bring own gardening tools, blower, weed eater, edger, and gasoline. This would include keeping the grounds, planting flowers, trimming bushes, pulling weeds
